Terraria is out on Android now for five dollars

Now I can dig and craft and build no matter where I am

It has been about three months since the popular 2D sandbox Terraria saw release on iOS, and now we chosen and righteous Android users get a taste of exploration addiction on the go. The title is listed as a free download on the Google Play store, but downloading and installing allows access to only the demo, with a $5 in-app unlock for the full game.

Control appears to be identical to that in the iOS version, which is workable, but far from ideal. The virtual d-pad is functional, and the zoom feature for block placement is neat, but it definitely looks like the upcoming Vita version is going to be the one to own for those interested in the best portable Terraria experience.

Still, there is an Android exclusive pet in this version, so I’m tempted to play through just to find out what it is. Little green Android logo robot, perhaps?
