Terraria update 1.2 to release on October 1st

New video shows a lot of the additional content

It’s been a long time coming, but it’s finally here. Early in 2012, developer Re-Logic said it would stop supporting the title with new free updates, then this year it surprised us with news of another patch. The time is almost upon us, as Terraria v1.2 is set to release on October 1.

The video above shows off a lot of the new content, including the previously seen angled terrain and fluid physics. The most welcome addition is the minimap, which should be immensely helpful for navigation without being exploitable like the map in the console versions, which allowed players to find precious gems and metals more easily. A few new monsters and weapons are shown as well, and overall it looks like quite a substantial upgrade.

Now I just need to convince Conrad to bring our shared Terraria world back.
