TGS 2007: Metal Gear Online: OctoCamo is the new black

Recommended Videos

The above video, as well as the two after the jump, show off a match in the upcoming Metal Gear Online direct from the current Tokyo Game Show. While the clips don’t reveal a ton of new information, they do show off a gorgeous rendering engine, a seemingly infinite draw distance and, yet again, the awesomeness that is OctoCamo.

Obviously the big draw for Konami is going to be Metal Gear Solid 4 — the series has always relied on a story that, while at times confusing as hell, is one of the finest in the industry — but Metal Gear Online seems like it’s shaping up nicely, and should draw fans of both Metal Gear and online death match. Though, if the PS2 and PSP iterations of the way Kojima does multiplayer (Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater and Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops, respectively) are any indication, there won’t be enough here to justify its release as an entire game. Is it too late for them to shoehorn it into MGS4?

Hit the jump for the other two parts of the match.

[Thanks go out to Golden Donut, and Nelson Mandela]
