After seeing the results of a year’s worth of work on Ninja Gaiden 3 we thought Team Ninja’s evening presentation was over. They tricked us and unveiled Dead or Alive 5 and their pre-TGS event tonight. Were we surprised? Not really.
You can see something like what we saw at this event in the video above.
Team Ninja boss Yosuke Hayashi said that they were wanting to bring Dead or Alive into the next generation in both graphics and gameplay. He says that with this release DOA is longer just a fighting game. He calls it “fighting entertainment.” Stages have always acted as a mere backdrop, but now there’s “dynamic attractions.”
In short? More crazy sh*t goes on. I don’t know if this is much more than an evolution of the original concept for the game, but it looks great with its exploding trucks and flying building parts. What do you think?
