If you raise 3.2 million dollars you can vote on a digital character
To say Dota 2 has gotten off to a great start is an understatement. It immediately garnered the support of casual MOBA fans and competitive tourney goers alike, and the game is going very strong, heading into new stretch goals for the Interactive Compendium. As our own Patrick Hancock recently revealed, the Compendium has many benefits, including a bonus courier, an XP boost, and a unique costume — but if it hits more goals, you’ll get more than that.
Specifically, the milestones involve a custom HUD skin for owners, as well as a new taunt item, the ability to vote on the 8 player Solo Championship, and the ability to choose the next hero. At first I thought “is it even possible to reach the goal?”, but if you look at the site’s counter, it says the game has had nearly 3.2 million unique players this month. So it stands to reason that not only is it possible, but it’s probable that they’ll reach their goal eventually.
Even though I’m more of a League player these days, I still dip into Dota 2 with friends, and highly recommend it. With the new tutorial, anyone can at least attempt to learn the basics.
