[Update: Miitomo also just went live for mobile devices. Search for it manually.]

The My Nintendo account system that was meant to replace Club Nintendo is now live in the west, after being available in Japan for the past few weeks. Having just signed in to test it out, “missions” (for points and coins) are immediately available. Also note the weekly sign-in bonus lying on the floor in your avatar’s play area at the top! Sneaky.

The big reward is definitely My Nintendo Picross: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, which goes for 1000 Platinum points and looks to be available until October 1 of this year (having finished every basic request outside of Miitomo, I have 500 on day one). Also note that you have to manually “collect points” by clicking on a mission, even if it’s already completed.

Can I just say “finally?” Nintendo has implemented a number of changes that actually bring it in line with its competitors, and I’m pretty happy about it. Miitomo is not available at the time of this writing, but it is set to debut later today.
