Doing the Bird
Rito Village is back in Tears of the Kingdom, which means Link gets to visit some old friends. There are plenty of characters to interact with, and while some of them only converse briefly, others hand out quests. This is the case with Laissa, as talking to her triggers a quest called “The White Bird’s Guidance”.
The quest is presented as a riddle, which may make it difficult for some to solve. This “The White Bird’s Guidance” guide will explain how to complete the short quest.
Step One: Find the White Bird
Laissa informs Link that she saw a white bird while sitting on a perch, and when she went to investigate, the bird was gone, but she did find a cave. The first thing to do is head up to Vah Medoh’s perch, which is the highest point of Rito Village. From there, face west and look for snow in the shape of a bird on the mountainside. The bird is circled in the image above.
It’s possible to glide there from Vah Medoh’s perch, though Link will need an upgraded stamina wheel or plenty of stealth-replenishing meals. Before soaring, use the Purah Pad to place a pin on the bird. This will make it easier to find again. Lastly, don’t forget to pick up the stone on the perch, as there’s a Korok beneath it.
Step Two: Enter the Cave
Drop down on the bird. The precise coordinates are: -3951, 2034, 0202. Enter the cave (West Lake Totori Cave) beside the bird and turn left at the pool of water. Continue following the path, and Link will eventually discover Wao-os shrine, which marks the end of the quest.
The shrine is one of the more enjoyable ones, and it involves understanding the power of levers. There are plenty more friends who hand out quests in Rito Village. This includes Teba who makes Link a lovely bow if he is given the right materials.
