Conquest and Rush on the Sinai Desert map
As a series, Battlefield usually shows well in trailers given the sheer spectacle of its multiplayer. Case in point: this one for Battlefield 1! You’ve got horses, tanks, planes, and a ferocious-looking armored train all clashing in a sandstorm. This is World War I filtered through the chaos of Battlefield all right.
Zack had a grand old time with the recent alpha build, and I’m curious to try the open beta. That’s going live on August 31 across PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. We’ll have access to two familiar modes (the 64-player Conquest, and the 24-player Rush) on the Sinai Desert map shown above.
Folks who give up their email address to become a Battlefield Insider by August 21 will secure “early access” to the Battlefield 1 beta. If you’re thinking of doing that, just be sure to select your platform preference on the site, or else you won’t get an advanced beta key.
As for that scripted sequence at the end of the trailer with the Bedouin woman, she’s one of the playable characters in the single-player campaign. Based on past experience, I’m not expecting too much from a Battlefield story, but DICE at least seems to be trying something new here.
