Time stops, TimeShift demo appears on Live, scares the neighbor’s cat

Without warning, the Saber Interactive developed TimeShift has appeared on Xbox Live. Weighing in at 582 MB, the demo will give players a chance to go hands on with the experimental Beta Suit, which will allow them to stop, slow, and reverse time.

I went hands on with the PlayStation 3 version of the title at this year’s E3, and my interest was slightly piqued with the how the game weaved the suit’s various abilities into the gameplay. Even more impressive was the fact that the developers had actually entirely scrapped a previous version of the game — one that was essnentially finished — and started over again … nearly from scratch.

It’ll be intresting to see if the time, money, and effort that went into re-imagining TimeShift has been worth the effort. Xbox 360, PC, and PlayStation 3 versions of the game ship later this year.
