Mutual Security Enhancing Simulation is the flagship event in Genshin Impact Version 4.7. It’s a spinoff of the tower defense minigames in versions past, but this time, you control monster units instead of just turrets. Here are some tips to quickly get you through every stage in this event!
How to beat Assault Scenario
The Assault Scenario game mode focuses on offense. Choose which monsters you want to control and place them on the field to capture the enemy base turret at the far end.
Enemy monsters will also populate the field at intervals. Some of these monsters (like Specters and Slimes) are immune to certain elements. Some are also flying enemies, which are immune to ground-only units. When choosing your team, be sure to avoid picking monsters that your enemies are immune to. You can check if a monster can target flying enemies by clicking on its picture.
The key to winning in Assault Scenario is to prioritize enemy turrets instead of monsters. This is easier said than done, since most of your monsters will automatically target the nearest enemy unless it’s right next to a turret. Just do your best to keep pushing forward, placing your units as soon as they come off cooldown.
Ruin Guards are the best unit and should be used as often as possible. They ignore all enemy monsters and target the nearest turret. Ruin Guards unlock partway through the event, and you can go back and replay previous stages if you haven’t gotten the rewards in them.
How to beat Defense Scenario
The Defense Scenario game mode focuses on defending your base. Enemies will advance through three lanes, and you must position your monsters around your base in order to defend it. Unlike Assault Scenario, in Defense Scenario, you cannot choose your own monster lineup.
Just keep placing your units as soon as they come off cooldown. You will see which enemies you can expect from which lane before each round starts. Keep in mind elemental immunities, and have an answer for flying units when they appear.
Mutual Security Enhancing Simulation rewards
There are seven stages for each Scenario, resulting in a combined fourteen stages for the entire event. Completing all stages awards 1,000 Primogems in total, along with a free event-exclusive 4-star Bow: Cloudforged. Going by past event weapons, Cloudforged will likely never be available again. So if nothing else, try to at least obtain the weapon and its Refinements.
Along with the Primogems and weapon, you’ll also get Mora, Hero’s Wits, Enhancement Ores, Talent books, weapon Ascension materials, elemental gem fragments, and a Crown of Insight.
