Pick it up for cheap before it’s gone
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD is a pretty bad homage to the classic PlayStation Neversoft series. It combined the original Pro Skater with its sequel and eventually got some maps from Pro Skater 3 as downloadable content.
Honestly, this is the worst way to enjoy these classic games, everything about it feels kind of off. We gave it a 4.5/10 back when it released in 2012, citing its lack of content and personality. If you feel this HD remake of a gaming classic is something you need in your Steam library, you only have a week to grab it.
No reason has been given for the removal, but it’s set to leave Steam on July 17: if I had to guess, I’d wager it has something to do with all of the licensed music, a staple of the Pro Skater series. If you needed another reason to pick it up, the title is currently on sale for $1.99. That’s 80 percent less than the regular asking price. The downloadable content will still run you the full $4.99.
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD is not a game that I enjoy playing, but at $1.99 it might be worth having a little bit of gaming history in your Steam Library.
