Strategy franchise’s new art book spoils the surprise
Yes, Total War: Warhammer is a thing that’s happening. No, Sega hasn’t officially announced it.
The word comes from a book entitled The Art of Total War, which is set to hit shelves next week. Unfortunately for those who may have been looking to keep this news item under wraps until then, copies of the text have already started making their way out into the wild.
One such codex wound up in the hands of a Total War Center forums user, who discovered a note from Total War creative director Mike Simpson stating the studio is experimenting with “taking the series to a fantasy setting with Total War: Warhammer.” Oops.
It was no secret the Total War studio was working on an adaptation of the tabletop game, given Sega inked a deal with Games Workshop to do just that in 2012, but it sure sounds like the project is still steaming along. Maybe we’ll catch a glimpse of it sometime soon.
