Easy streaming is available to the masses
Following PlanetSide 2 and Origin‘s lead, Call of Duty: Black Ops II will be integrating Twitch streaming right into the game. This will allow players to broadcast their matches live right onto their Twitch.tv channel.
Players on PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 will have access to this new feature with the press of a button. And they’ll also be able to stream a webcam and/or audio commentary along with the game’s feed. Anyone can watch the feed from a web browser right from Twitch, and Call of Duty Elite users will be able to watch from pretty much anywhere, including tablets and mobile devices. This means you never have to stop watching people play.
This is great news for Twitch. Having the ability to stream to their service right from the game makes it easier for players to broadcast their games, and it will bring more watchers to Twitch channels. And if you needed one very large game to show off how awesome livestreaming can be, Black Ops II has one of the largest audiences around. Activision benefits as well because more people will see people playing Call of Duty and that can never hurt sales.
I’m sure you’ll be able to see people playing very soon right on Destructoid’s Twitch.tv channel.
