But why? They’ll tell you why
The Wii U still isn’t in a good spot with third parties. There’s a running gag in the industry that something is coming to “every console ever…except!” and everyone chimes in “the Wii U.” It’s a shame, because it’s currently my favorite console, hardware and controller-wise.
Strangely enough the PS3 has been snubbed recently as well from Ubisoft, as the racer The Crew is now slated to arrive on November 11 on Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, and PC. When asked why, Ubisoft responded, “The Crew is originally built for the new generation of consoles so when we made the decision to port it to the previous generation of consoles, we decided to focus solely on the platform closest to the new-gen’s technical infrastructure, which is the Xbox 360.”
I always knew Microsoft had better infrastructure (Activision has made many comments on this in the past — where do you think that Xbox Live money goes), but it’s interesting to see it still benefiting the platform holder years later in a new generation. Assuming The Crew is good, you can enjoy it on a past-generation system come November.
