Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 shows signs of repeating the endless success of Call of Duty: World at War. It was this time last year that my weekly UK Chart was reporting record breaking success for the Call of Duty franchise, and here we are again with the exact same process.
Infinity Ward’s massive shooter is now the third biggest game in UK history, beaten by Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and Dr. Kawashima’s Brain Training … seriously.
In other news, Bayonetta has had a very impressive debut, coming in at number five on the chart. Meanwhile, Vigil’s excellent Darksiders has debuted at number right. Both games seem to demonstrate just how wise it was to release their game a week after the holidays. You can expect other publishers to copy the tactic next year and clutter up yet another release window.
