Uncharted 4 won’t be 60fps if it ‘impact[s] the player’s experience’

Uncharted 4 director Bruce Straley said in the newest issue of Edge that Naughty Dog wouldn’t push the game to 60fps if it adversely affects “the player’s experience.”

Last month’s demo, which has me positively optimistic for the sequel, was capped at 30fps. “We’re actually above 30,” Straley explained, “but we locked it [for the demo]. We’re going to do whatever it takes to make the game we want to make. If it means we could go for 60 but lose something that would really impact the player’s experience, then it’s our choice as developers to say, ‘Well, we’re going to go for the experience over the 60 frames.'”

The Last of Us: Remastered ran at 1080p/60fps, while all three PS3 Uncharted games ran at 30fps.
