(Update) Best Buy listings indicate entries for Zelda: Link to the Past on Switch, Metroid Prime Trilogy, Persona 5

They could also be placeholders

[Update: According to sources, Best Buy has de-listed the products in question from the system. As folks who work for the company point out this could mean that the retailer jumped the gun, or that Best Buy was given incorrect information (or even still: Nintendo should have told them that these SKUs were confidential). Either way this seems like an E3 sort of thing, beyond the possibility of a Nintendo Direct between now and mid-June.]

In today’s issue of “wild speculation weekly,” it’s been discovered that Best Buy has listings in their employee database for three Switch bombshells: Persona 5, Zelda: Link to the Past, and the Metroid Prime Trilogy. Yowza.

On one end of the spectrum, this sort of thing points to an upcoming Nintendo Direct, which shows off Persona 5‘s Joker in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, then hypes us up with a Persona 5 Switch announcement. That would make a whole lot of sense right?

On the other end, these could be placeholders for something else. Persona 5 Switch could be the upcoming Persona game even if Persona 5 on Switch makes sense. Link’s Awakening could be a download card or something or an erroneous entry (or pre-confirming that the Switch Online suite will add SNES games and this will be among the first). And the Metroid Prime Trilogy: who knows what’s happening with that entire subseries after the developmental shakeup, but if the Wii and Wii U can handle it, so can the Switch.

This is just coming off the likely true Best Buy Joker Smash character model leak, but as always, take this with a grain of salt.
