Volition was hoping to get the jump on Comic Con, which means new media for Red Faction: Armageddon is here for the looking. Previously, they weren’t willing to let us stare at this sequel’s enemies for very long. This video, on the other hand, is all about showing the creatures — and how nicely they explode.
I know some of you are wary over the shift to the Mars underground; I am too. Throwing in aliens seems like an odd move — at least it wasn’t zombies — but it was a move, at any rate. They probably could have tightened up the graphics and left virtually everything else untouched, and we’d eat it up.
Instead, they’re going for something else. In my book, experimenting is the better route, even if it ends in “failure.”
