For Steam Scream Fest
A V Rising free weekend is coming up, thanks to the Steam Scream Fest: plus it has some free DLC through November 7.
Here’s the quick rundown on the free weekend timing:
“Play-For-Free this Halloween! The Bloodfeast is the time of year Vampires most freely engage in their savagery, and it’s not a private party. All creatures of the night are invited! We’re encouraging everyone who has an interest in engaging their bloodsucking desires to join us the weekend of October 28th through November 1st for a V Rising free weekend! Bring all your friends, show them the way of the Vampire, and let them experience Vardoran for the first time.”
And here’s what you’ll get from the Haunted Nights Castle Pack DLC (which you can redeem for free), as well as some info on how to access it:
By unlocking the DLC and by completing the Journal Quest “Lord of Shadows” you unlock access to the following new items:
- Haunted Nights Coffin (Skin variation of Wooden Coffin)

Since time is a resource, you probably want to know if this is even worth checking out. As you may recall, Eric checked out V Rising closer to its original launch, and had this to say:
“My initial impressions of V Rising are pretty strong, though I’m curious to see where it goes from here. PvP really seems to be the driver for long-term play; it’s been fairly straightforward to chop through the PvE content in a solo world. Plus, the vampire-versus-vampire fights seem like they’d be a hoot. I’ve been content enough with farming away in my own lands for now, but I’d be curious to see what the PvP side looks like.”
It’s still currently in early access. Once it leaves it, I’m definitely going to get even more into it than what I’ve dabbled in so far. It has a lot of promise, and the theme is on point.
