Poncle, the developers of Vampire Survivors, has revealed the Chilling Update, which is set to drop “in a few weeks” according to a trailer posted by the developer.
How to unlock the Chilling Update content
The trailer — which is less than a minute in length — asks the viewer if they’re “tired of working the dairy plant,” and if so, they should “cool down in whiteout.” This update unlocks a brand new overworld to play Vampire Survivors in; the overworld looks just like a winter wonderland, only with a lot more autonomous, floating skulls and ghouls than I’d care for. Based on the trailer, the new overworld can be unlocked by collecting 20 Orologians.
Also included in this update is a new weapon, the Glass Fandango, which is “stronger with movement, Orologians, and against frozen enemies,” a new relic, the Antidote, that “allows [the player] to buy the Defang PowerUp,” and a new character, She-Moon, who can be unlocked by surviving 20 minutes in the new overworld.
It was not confirmed when specifically this update would be released, but it was said it’d be within a few weeks from the trailer’s posting on September 26. The Chilling Update serves as Vampire Survivors’ version 1.7.0. Version 1.6 added a local co-op mode, an option to disable blood, font, and border customization options, and the ability to integrate the game with Twitch for Steam versions only.
