Same event, different time
If you’ve used the internet within the past six months, I don’t need to tell you that Pokemon Scarlet & Violet are buggy games. Despite a few patches allegedly aiming to fix key issues, the games still don’t run great. Fortunately, the game’s rampant bugs occasionally lead to some benefits for the playerbase, including the current Tera Raid event live in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet.
Until May 14th, trainers once again have the chance to battle and catch Walking Wake and Iron Leaves. These encounters originally went live in February as part of a series of celebratory events that included the announcement of DLC for Scarlet & Violet later this year. However, the Tera Raid hid a nasty glitch the first time around, locking players out of catching these Pokemon completely if they forgot to update their game.
This rerun allows trainers affected by the glitch to catch both Pokemon proper, once and for all. That said, players who weren’t around the first time may also use this opportunity to catch the new monsters. If you want to learn more about this encounter, our coverage from before still applies.

Nothing new for veterans
One important point of clarification for this rerun; it truly is the same event as last time. Trainers may only catch one Walking Wake and Iron Leaves per save file, and that counter did not reset. In other words, anyone who already caught these two has no reason to participate again.
For everyone else, Walking Wake and Iron Leaves are nice bonus Pokemon that are well worth owning. While neither has dominated any 7-Star Tera Raid battles, they do see occasional use thanks to their unique abilities. Also, it’s just cool to have any form of Suicune again. Pokemon Crystal was the last game in the series I played until I took a hiatus from the series, which I ironically broke with the excellent HeartGold & SoulSilver remakes. One thing led to another, and now I’m here covering Pokemon news for a living. Funny how life works.
Walking Wake and Iron Leaves will be joined by a rerun of the 7-Star Inteleon raid from May 5 to May 7. Additionally, current trends indicate we’ll see another 7-Star Tera Raid event go live from May 12 to 14. In other words, it’s a heck of a busy time for Pokemon raiders. I can’t wait to see who Annihilape will defeat next.
