If you log on to Warframe on a major update day, there’s a slight change you may have gotten that “Arsenal Tuning” message from the Community Team. What exactly is it and why are there so many resources given for free? We can break this down below.
What is Arsenal Tuning in Warframe?
Arsenal Tuning is essentially a way to soften the blow when something popular in the meta gets nerfed. Since nerfs are hardly ever fun in a PvE game (unless something trivializes difficulty), Digital Extremes gives players a bundle of resources as compensation.
As the game’s message says, “Ordis knows the Operator may need time to grow accustomed to these changes”. So, even if your overpowered cheese builds may have been toned down a bit, the compensation for materials is a fair trade.
Even if you did not use the abilities or items that were nerfed in the latest update, you are still eligible to receive the materials in your inbox. Chances are along with these significant balance changes, other things have been reworked so you can try out the new stuff instead.
Either way, these bundles often give you Formas which is hard to come by. That can be used for polarization for your weapons, frames, or companions, so that’s a nice boost to have on update day.
What was nerfed in the latest patch?
As of the Dante Unbound update, the following has been nerfed:
- Grendel’s Nourish Helminth ability
- Viral damage decreased from 75% to 45%
- Energy multiplier reduced from 2x to 1.6x
The following have had abilities or mechanics changed:
- Loki’s Decoy and Switch Teleport abilities
- Mirage’s Eclipse and Prism abilities
- Inaros ability rework
- Gara passive change
- Yareli’s Aquablades, Riptide, and Merulina
As stated earlier, even if you have not utilized any of these Warframe abilities, all players will receive the Arsenal Tuning inbox message along with the free goodies upon logging in.
