Good Boring Britain
Ubisoft has launched the online component for its blah open-world sequel Watch Dogs: Legion. The new multiplayer modes are now live on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Stadia platforms. The PC update has been halted for the time being due to technical issues.
Watch Dogs: Legion now offers a “Co-Op Free Roam” mode, which allows budding Brit hackers the opportunity to team up with a squad of three friends and take a stroll through the streets of London, completing activities and side-quests while enjoying the bizarre juxtaposition of character models paired with ill-fitting voice-actors.
For a little head-to-head action, players can jump into the Robot Wars-style Spiderbot Arena. For all of Watch Dogs: Legion‘s faults, you absolutely have to love those awesome little droids. In fairness, Watch Dogs: Legion only really comes alive once you step away from its tired campaign and just simply start raising a little hell, so perhaps this multiplayer free-roam option will bring the fun and spontaneity back to the overly-formulaic gameplay.
Going forward, March 23 will see the arrival of a new multiplayer Tactical Op “Leader of the Pack,” again delayed from its scheduled launch due to technical issues. In the meantime, season pass owners can jump into two new single-player missions: “Guardian Protocol” and “Not in Our Name,” both of which will see DeadSec continue on its tireless, if fruitless, task of liberating England from misery and corruption.
