Ron Carmel, co-creator of the highly successful WiiWare and PC title World of Goo, has made a WarioWare D.I.Y. microgame. Suck Goo might be simplistic (even by WarioWare standards) but that’s exactly the sort of game I can see myself making. A simple one, I mean, not one where Goo gets sucked into a pipe. That’s just weird.
This video was a really good idea. I knew the microgame building tools would have to be simple but I didn’t expect it to be as easy as some of this. The maestro in particular looks to be a helpful little guy for those of us who have no gift for music whatsoever.
WarioWare D.I.Y. is such an interesting concept that I wish it were on a platform that wasn’t mortified of online spaces. One where the service could have content from everyone that you could browse through, even if there were some kind of approval process or something. But you can at least get Suck Goo. It’s available right now through WarioWare D.I.Y.
