The Code Name: STEAM reveal was an interesting experience. Destructoid’s Dale North was on hand at Nintendo’s developer roundtable in Los Angeles Wednesday night, and none of us were sure what he’d see at the behind closed doors presentation.

And then Nintendo finally unshrouded its latest intellectual property, a steampunk strategy game where Abe Lincoln tasks you with killing aliens. The information was conveyed back to our war room as quick and accurately as possible so we could share the exciting news with all of you. It was a chaotic and thrilling 90 minutes, that’s for sure.

We could only imagine what Nintendo was showing off. We built it up in our minds as this amazing experience. Then, shortly after the Q&A, some screenshots appeared. And it was tough not to feel a little deflated. How could reality ever live up to the vivid images we conjured in our minds?

Well, now Nintendo has dropped the curtain, giving the world a brief peek at the unveiling and what exactly what Code Name: STEAM looks like in motion. It’s not everything I imagined it would be, but I’m pleasantly surprised.

Nintendo also shared footage taken live from the E3 show floor, showing off an extended look at the the upcoming 3DS title and additional commentary from the developers at Intelligent Systems.
