Just Dance on PS5 is a thrill, but it is a bit confusing for those used to playing the game on the Nintendo Switch or even the Wii. Here’s what you’ll need to play Just Dance 2024 and other games in the series on PS5.
How to play Just Dance on PS5
There’s only one way to play Just Dance on PS5. You’ll need the Just Dance 2023 Controller app; it works with both 2023’s and 2024’s games. You can download it from the App Store or Google Play Store. Don’t confuse this app with the regular Just Dance Controller app or Just Dance Now, as those are not what you’re looking for.
Once you boot up the game, launch the Controller app on your phone. Then, enter the pairing code that’s shown on-screen. It should look similar to the picture above.
Previous Just Dance games on PlayStation let you use the PlayStation Camera or the PlayStation Move motion controllers. Unfortunately, everything after Just Dance 2023 only uses the mobile app. It’s a bit of a weird choice, considering that you can play the Just Dance games on the Nintendo Switch with the system’s Joy-Con controllers.
At least up to six players can join
Motion controllers can be very expensive, so being able to use your phone as a controller in Just Dance 2023 and Just Dance 2024 is handy. Up to six players can dance together, which will add extra friends on screen. It works similarly to how the Jackbox Party Pack games work. All your friends need is the code and they’ll be able to join the dance party.
