Hot in the City
I don’t know how it is in your neck of the woods, but it’s been El Scorchio around my homestead. Yes, even here in the miserably grey U of K. Here’s hoping that my PS4 doesn’t melt like last year (remember that?). I’ve been trying to keep cool while also covering E3 with my fellow Destructoid writers for all y’all. This is my first day off in forever, but what else is new? More importantly, I hope you had a great E3 and saw more than a few titles that hwhet your hwhistle. Don’t forget to check out our own Hidden Gems, Editors’ Awards, and other thoughts on E3 2021, which was overall much lower-key in scope than usual, I’m sure you’ll agree.
When not hitting all of the hot scoops, under hotter temperatures, I spent this week bouncing around three titles, in particular, Merge Games’ Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX, Acid Nerve’s somewhat gloomy isometric RPG Death’s Door, and Hero Concepts’ face-bustin’ slugger Mayhem Brawler. I’ll be writing up my thoughts on all of these three titles in the near future, so please keep your eyes peeled for those. In the meantime, I plan to do very, very little this weekend. So if the site is a little more quiet than usual, it’s because we are all taking a well-deserved rest, albeit a very short one.
Still, that doesn’t mean I don’t want to hear about all the great, (and perhaps not-so-great), games that you’ve been playing this past week. Whether you’ve been hitting some of the great new releases of late such as Ratchet & Clank, Resident Evil Village, Guilty Gear Strive — or whether you’ve been cooling off with some backlog titles or personal faves, please take a few seconds before you start your Saturday to jump into the comments and share your experiences with us. Thanks y’all!
Have a wonderful weekend, from all of us at Destructoid.
