A few years ago developer Techland looked like it was about to rock our faces off with three awesome games in the form of Dead Island, Chrome 2 and Warhound. None, however, have come out, which might be understandable since the company has been working on Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood, but the fact that news on the games has also disappeared is a bit troubling to those looking forward to them. We got an update on Dead Island this week, but what about their other games? The last post we had on Warhounds, an FPS mercenary career simulator, was written in 2007 by David “Recognizing Your Gamers” Houghton (memories), and a quick search doesn’t even bring up any Chrome 2 news.
Inquiring minds want to know, and so they ask. And when one asks, one gets responses — sometimes. “Nothing has changed regarding the list of our titles in development,” Techland’s International Brand Manager Blazej Krakowiak told That VideoGame Blog, “Due to business reasons we don’t want to discuss them at this time.” Could these business reasons be the same publisher issues that are keeping them mum on Dead Island or is there some economic trouble brewing at Techland? It’s more likely the latter as Krakowiak also mentioned that the games should be well worth the wait. “Hopefully the Chrome Engine 4 tech movie and the quality of our latest release, Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood will reassure gamers that our games are worth the wait.”
Were you guys wondering where these games were, or have they slipped so far off the radar that you’ve stopped caring?
