Well it’s back, in Borderlands 3 form! Forget Amara, Moze, and Zane: I got dibs on FL4K.
There isn’t a lot of info on FL4K yet, but they don’t need it, because they already kick ass
FL4K is probably a robot. They also kick ass and turn invisible. Odds are FL4K is going to offer a pretty versatile playstyle. This is because FL4K is the best choice, possibly of any Borderlands game to date: even if it’s already taken.
So we don’t have full skill tree listings yet: no problem. There’s no need to dive into the nuances and crunch numbers. FL4K sells themselves. I’ll count the ways.

There’s something about working with a pet or summon that I dig. Maybe it’s the fact that I like to play nearly everything solo if I can, and “beastmaster,” or “necromancer” classes are generally one of the best ways to do that. If you can name the pet, I’m 100% in. If the pet is already named and has a personality, I’m 110% in.
Based on what we’ve seen so far, FL4K can command former cannon fodder Spiderants and Skags with some sort of mind-control device that resembles their own armor plating. Maybe we’ll get some theme involving the ethics of domination that we didn’t get from the Shadow of War/Mordor series. Maybe not.
For me, the promise of digital pets is enough. Especially if cats are on the table. FL4K seems like a cat person. That’s like, plus 100 Cool Points. 50 more and they can cash them in for a spider ring or a finger puppet.
Like Zer0, FL4K is the big “mystery character” of the game
One of the only real confirmations we’ve gotten from Gearbox regarding FL4K is that their story is mostly a mystery to be revealed within the confines of the game. So you’re telling me that we probably won’t get 10-minute long “explainer” trailers ruining FL4K’s story beforehand? Message received.
Just like Zer0 in Borderlands 2, I’m drawn to the less flashy types, the enigmas. In some cases (Reaper) that means edgier, but FL4K seems to have that edge toned down significantly. Nobody sits like FL4K sits. You rock, FL4K. FL4K just sits and is. You show us how to just sit there and be broody, and that’s what we need.
