After a long Early Access period, Baldur’s Gate 3 has finally launched. It isn’t available on all platforms just yet, though. Windows players can happily begin their adventure, but those on PlayStation and Mac still have a bit of waiting to do. Although Baldur’s Gate 3 isn’t out on PS5 yet, fans won’t have to wait too long, because the port is scheduled to release on September 6.
Baldur’s Gate 3 on PS5 is delayed
Larian Studios, the team behind Baldur’s Gate 3, originally announced the game would release on all platforms on August 31. As a pleasant surprise to many, the Windows version was later bumped up and given a new release date of August 3. The PS5 version was slightly delayed, receiving a new release date of September 6. Owners of the Digital Deluxe Edition will be able to start playing from September 3.
As the studio explained in a community post on Steam, the game is targeting 60 FPS on the console, but to achieve that, developers need a little extra time. An Xbox Series X/S version is in the works, though it has yet to be given a release date.
According to the studio’s FAQ page on Steam, developers are also targeting September 6 for the Mac version, though the final release date has yet to be confirmed. Mac players can enjoy the Early Access version in the meantime, though your save file won’t be transferrable to the final game.
Since its release, Baldur’s Gate 3 has been performing well on Steam, and it currently sits at the number one spot on the store’s top sellers list. It has received positive reception thus far, so PS5 players have plenty to look forward to.
