One of CoD’s most legendary sniper rifles is coming.

The iconic Kar98k sniper rifle is returning to Call of Duty in Warzone and Modern Warfare 3, but when will you be able to get your hands on this behemoth? I’ve got the official date so you can get ready.

New weapons are added to Call of Duty every season, giving players new options to add to their loadouts. Usually, these new guns are pretty powerful, which makes unlocking and leveling them up necessary if you want to be a part of the meta.

While Season 3 Reloaded added Advanced Warfare‘s BAL-27, we’re going further back into history for Season 4, with the Kar98k sniper rifle making its Modern Warfare 3 debut.

MW3 and Warzone Kar98k release date

The Kar98k will be added to Warzone and Modern Warfare 3 when Season 4 releases on Wednesday, May 29, 2024.

The gun will then be added to the game and will be unlocked either through the Battle Pass or a set of challenges, which will be confirmed when Activision drops the Season 4 blog before the update.

Teasers for the Kar98k dropped on May 16, when content creators were sent packages advertising the new season, which included a toy car with the number 98 on it, the tagline “Bolt into action,” a scratch-off portion with the letter “K,” and a section on the back that indicates there are 98 of them in the world. Subtle, I know.

The Kar98k was an extremely popular option in Warzone Pacific back in 2021, so it’ll be interesting to see how the new version stacks up. New guns generally dominate the meta to begin with, so I imagine we’ll be seeing people calling for nerfs on May 30.
