Catching creepy crawlies
Tears of the Kingdom features some massive monsters that dwarf Link. While paying attention to a King Gleeok or a Frox, it is easy to forget that there is a rich ecosystem of tiny insects and crawling critters. Collecting them is useful, as they can be used to craft elixirs and upgrade armor. This is the case with Bladed Rhino Beetles which are exceptionally hard to locate.
If you’re having trouble figuring out where to find Bladed Rhino Beetles in Tears of the Kingdom, this guide will steer you straight.
Collecting Bladed Rhino Beetles from enemies in Tears of the Kingdom
Plenty of useful loot can be gathered in Tears of the Kingdom by defeating monsters. To get Bladed Rhino Beetles, you’ll have to take down the Evermean trees. These creatures can be found in forests, and they blend in with the rest of the trees.
You can spot an Evermean if you use the Purah Pad’s camera, as it’ll be labeled. Once you know which tree is the imposter, swing at it with a sharp weapon and it’ll fall after a few chops. If you’re lucky, a Bladed Rhino Beetle will be part of your loot.
Catching Bladed Rhino Beetles in the wild
You can also pick up Bladed Rhino Beetles when they’re spotted on trees. To make the task easier, throw on a stealth outfit, such as the Yiga Clan Armor set. When the purple beetles are spotted creep close and press “A” to grab it. It should be noted that the beetles are typically spotted at night when it isn’t raining, so head to a campfire and wait for a clean night before beginning your beetle hunt.
When searching for Bladed Rhino Beetles, try looking in Bronas Forest. This spot is located in Faron, at the following coordinates: 1449, -3288, 0068.
Alternatively, hit up Retsam Forest, which is at the top of Hateno Village. You should find some Bladed Rhino Beetles around these coordinates: 3833, -1988, 0183.
