Where to find Ghasts in A Minecraft Movie live event

Don't let their fireballs hit you.

There are many quests you need to tackle throughout the A Minecraft Movie live event, and not all of them are easy to navigate. One of the tougher ones asks you to kill 20 Ghasts, which can be tricky if you don’t know where to find them.

Midport Village is quite large, and there are lots of different locations to explore and activities to try. Only one spot in the entire map is home to the mobs you’re searching for, so here’s where to find Ghasts in A Minecraft Movie live event.

You can find Ghasts coming out of the Nether portals around the outer walls region where Garrett hangs out. There are two different ways you can travel to this area:

  • You can use your map to fast travel there. This is the easiest way to reach the right location. Select the map in your inventory and choose the play button on the outer walls region to travel.
  • You can also walk there on foot. Starting at where you spawn in Midport Village, walk forward slightly, then turn right when you reach the wooden sign pointing in different directions. Continue straight until you reach Garrett, an NPC in a pink jacket standing by the outer walls. Talk with him to travel to the outer walls.

Once you leave Midport Village and enter the outer walls region, you can start working on finding some Ghasts to kill. Head up the ladders and walls attached to the gate to get a good view of the battle.

When you have a good spot, you can start hunting for Ghasts. You can’t fight the Ghasts up close, so use your bow to shoot them down as they appear. As the battle unfolds, Ghasts will sometimes come out of the Nether portals to aid the Piglin army. They look slightly different from classic and Happy Ghasts in Minecraft, but they’re still recognizable.

When do Ghasts spawn in A Minecraft Movie live event?

Ghasts spawn randomly every few seconds to every few minutes from the Nether portals in the outer walls region. Based on my experience with them, their spawn frequency seems pretty random, so how easy or hard it is to find them mostly comes down to luck.

How to kill 20 Ghasts in A Minecraft Movie live event

To kill 20 Ghasts for the second quest in the A Minecraft Movie live event, you need to deal the killing blow against a total of 20 Ghasts in the outer walls region. This is a big undertaking since they don’t appear very often, and you likely won’t be the only player in the server trying to get it done.

Finishing this quest gets you the special Battle Cry emote, 500 emeralds, and 1,000 XP. It’s also one of the key tasks you need to finish if you’re hoping to earn the exclusive Yearn Cape.

If you’re having trouble with this task, you might want to work on finding the secret collectibles around the map to make your experience easier. Tools like the Hot Lava Chicken, Battle Axe, and Saxophone can be useful for tackling this tricky quest and other ones.
