In Palia, cooking is very useful. Consuming food grants you Focus, which increases the amount of experience you gain when performing skills. However, as you progress and start using Focus more and more, you’re going to want to cook better dishes. A lot of the early dishes that are best for gaining Focus require the ingredient Spice. Unfortunately, Palia doesn’t really tell you where you can find Spice, so it can be a bit difficult figuring out exactly where to find it.
If you need Spice in Palia, look no further. We’ve found just the spot to gather some Spice and get cooking.
Where can you find Spice in Palia?
You can find Spice up around the Mirror Fields and Mirror Pond Ruins northeast of Kilima Village. I’ve circled this location on the screenshot above.
Here you will find a common ingredient called Spice Sprouts. While running around the area I usually find anywhere from 3-6 Spice Sprouts in total, and they usually start respawning by the time I run around the whole area. This is plenty of Spice for the early cooking recipes. Now it’s time to put the Spice to good use and gain yourself some Focus!
What can you do with Spice in Palia?
Now that you know where to find Spice in Palia, you probably want to cook it up. The very first recipe you can make with Spice is Hearty Vegetable Soup. To cook some Hearty Vegetable Soup, you need two specific crafting stations in your home: a Prep Station and a Stove.
Once you have these two, head to your Stove and choose to begin cooking the Hearty Vegetable Soup. As you will see, you need 1 Vegetable, 1 Spice, and 1 Sliced Mushroom to cook the soup. After selecting the recipe, you can then cut up a Mushroom at the Prep Station to add to the soup on the Stove.
After all of the ingredients have been added to the Hearty Vegetable Soup, it will take a few seconds to cook. You can then collect the soup from the Stove which will give you three units of it. Each Hearty Vegetable Soup you consume will grant you a sizable 100 Focus. Now you know where to find Spice in Palia and how to make the most of it!
