In Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, radar mushrooms are a unique resource found only in the Clouded Forest region. If you need superior or exquisite quality mushrooms though, you’ll need to go to a specific location to find the best radar mushrooms.
Where to find rare radar mushrooms
The Hunter’s Guide isn’t very helpful. The guide entry says that rare radar mushrooms can be found near waterfalls in the northern Scarlet Thicket biome of the Clouded Forest. What it really means is one specific waterfall to the far north of the region.
The waterfall can be found due west of TAP Con-1. It’s in an area thick with toxic yawä, which steadily drains your health over time. I recommend progressing far enough into the story to gain immunity to the toxic fog. Your Ikran will refuse to fly into the yawä either way, so you’ll need to fly above it, dismount at the top of the waterfall, and carefully make your way down the cliff. There are several superior and exquisite radar mushrooms on the western bank at the base of the falls.
How to harvest radar mushrooms
Finding the location is half the battle, but now you need to harvest the radar mushrooms. The mushrooms are inside tall, columnar fungi with tightly closed protective segments. To make these segments open up, find three smaller ball-shaped fungi in the vicinity and melee them. Melee the right ones, and the main body should spread open, revealing two clusters of radar mushrooms that you can harvest.
To harvest the exposed radar mushrooms, grab a cluster and pull down and to the left. You’ll get the best quality mushrooms at night.
How to use radar mushrooms
Aside from cooking, radar mushrooms are required for certain side quests. You specifically need a superior quality one for The Celebration Mural.
The Celebration Mural is a series of quests that you can start after both the Aranahe and Zeswa ally with the resistance. To start this questline, talk to Tukru at the Zeswa clan home camp. He will later move to the Watchful Scouts camp to the west.
The first part of the questline requires a cloud spitter seed and a pod fruit, both of superior quality. Next, you’ll need a superior fortune’s fruit to represent the Aranahe.
After recruiting the Kame’tire to your cause, return to Tukru to add to the mural. He will need a superior radar mushroom to represent the Kame’tire.
