Crude Ring in Wuthering Waves is a vital resource. You will need it to level up characters, so prepare to get a lot of it, especially if you have multiple characters in your party who need it for upgrades.
Crude Ring is used as an ascension material for Calcharo, Yangyang, Yanwu, and Danjin. At the moment, you do not need it for any weapons in the game.
Where to get Crude Ring
Crude Ring can be obtained in several ways. Some cost resources, while others are free. I always suggest farming these the free way, where possible, and saving resources for harder-to-get things. It just makes sense to hold on to resources as much as you can, especially when the item you want really isn’t very hard to get.
Farming from enemies
You can farm Exile enemies anywhere on the map, and they have a chance to drop the Crude Ring on death. There are numerous types of Exiles in the game, and they are pretty standard human enemies.
- Exile Leader – normally armed with dual blades and capable of channeling Electro energy.
- Exile Technician – a caster who can create shields for themselves and others and cast blades of damaging enemies.
- Standard Exiles – will be armed with either a melee weapon or a gun. They are not a very serious threat.
You can find Exiles all over the map, but they are quite common on the Central Plains, and the Desorock Highlands.
Purchase from the weapon shop
Crude Rings can also be purchased from the weapon shop in Jinzhou. The weapon store is found in the northeast of the city, near the Synthesis console. It will cost 1500 Shell Credits to buy Crude Ring, and there will be a limit to how many you can purchase each day. Getting your resources this way can get expensive quickly, so it is not really the best way to do things.
Purchase from the in-game store
Hands down, the worst way to get anything is to buy it from the in-game store. You really do not need to do this. You can spend 15 Oscillate Corals to get 5 Crude Rings, but it is absolutely not worth it. The inventory for this store also rotates, so they may not be available when you need them. If you are tempted to go this route, I implore you to just go farm some Exiles.
An important note on Crude Ring is that you can use it at the Syntehsiser to make the higher ranked Rings at a rate of 3 to 1. So, you can use 3 Crude Ring to make a Basic ring, and so on. Keep that in mind as you get later into the game and need higher rarities of Ring for ascensions.
