The legendary Ubisoft series carries on, and we know what the Assassin’s Creed Mirage country will be. Like the original game, we’ll be taken back to the Middle East as Basim. We’ll be exploring a city set around the events of the deadly Zanj Rebellion. Here’s what we know about the Assassin’s Creed Mirage country we’ll be exploring.
What is the Assassin’s Creed Mirage country featured?
Assassin’s Creed Mirage is set in 9th century Iraq, the latest in the world-traveled Assassin’s Creed series, which has seen players visit France, England, Egypt, the United States, and Italy. Mirage‘s main hub is based around the country’s capital, Baghdad, and is set 20 years before Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, which featured Basim as an older NPC.
“Basim is going to be coming from a street thief to a master assassin,” said narrative director Sarah Beaulieu during the Assassin’s Creed 2022 Showcase video. The narrative director also called Baghdad “beautiful,” “vibrant,” and “magnificent.”
“It’s a very dense city, where you’re going to meet a lot of different people,” Beaulieu said.
Who are we going to meet in Assassin’s Creed Mirage?
Every game in the series has featured historical figures. For example, in Assassin’s Creed 2, we met the genius Leonardo di Vinci. In Mirage, we’ll talk to political leaders from the ninth century, according to Beaulieu.
Future games in the series will take us to China, feudal Japan, and the United States (during the witch hunts in Salem).
We’ll find out more when Assassin’s Creed Mirage releases on PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC, on October 5.
