Who is the villain in Jedi Survivor? (No major spoilers)

It’s complicated

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor takes place five years after the original, and folks are anxiously wondering who will fill the shoes of the Imperial Inquisitors.  Note that there are no major spoilers or twist explanations present here. Everything discussed below happens early on in the story.

Here’s a brief rundown on what to expect.

Dagan Gera is a core villain of Jedi Survivor

Cloaked in mystery, Dagan Gera is a Jedi survivor of the Old Republic era (which takes place hundreds of years before the events of Jedi Survivor). He has survived for centuries due to a deep sleep in a Bacta Tank, which is interrupted by Cal himself.

Part of the story of Jedi Survivor is understanding Gera’s motivations and backstory. He, like many other Force-sensitive creations before him, represents the thinly-veiled dichotomy between the Light and the Dark side of the Force, and how one bad day can turn everything on its head.

Gera is backed up by Rayvis: a Gen’Dai warrior

In the same vein as the Turians of Mass Effect fame, Rayvis is an indomitable warrior and the leader of the Bedlam Raiders.

As a Gen’Dai he has a very long lifespan, helped by his species’ regenerative capabilities. He meets Cal very early on in the story as the player starts to establish a home base on Koboh, showcasing his powerful presence immediately.

There are other antagonistic forces to deal with in Jedi: Survivor

Major groups that oppose Cal and his friends include:

  • The Empire
  • The Bedlam Raiders
  • Bounty Hunters
  • Baktoid Combat Droids repurposed by Raiders
  • The fauna and predators of various planets

Again, there are a few surprises in store for players, but they won’t be a part of this spoiler-free overview!
