What is the symbiote in Spider-Man 2?
The symbiote arrives on Earth via a meteorite. It’s a creepy, jelly-like creature that loves attaching itself to hosts. At first, the symbiote seems to benefit its host by giving them incredible abilities, saving their life in risky situations, and making them feel powerful.
However, if worn for too long, it eventually corrupts its host. When fully controlled, the host becomes Venom, who is villainous and aims to infect the whole world with symbiotes.
Who is Venom in Spider-Man 2?
Harry Osborn becomes Venom in Spider-Man 2. He is Peter Parker‘s close friend, but he is also very sick. When on the brink of death, he is saved by the symbiote that restores his vitality and gives him powers amazing enough to help him fight villains with Peter.
After Peter is almost killed by Kraven, the symbiote transfers itself to him. It heals him and enhances his spidey powers, but he also slowly grows more aggressive and sinister. After witnessing how it drives him to almost go against his morals, he understands that the symbiote must be destroyed.
Without the symbiote, Harry is sick again, so he attempts to stop Peter from destroying it. The symbiote takes control of him and he becomes Venom, a slimy being with a long tongue. To save the day, Peter is forced into a battle against his friend.
Spider-Man 2 features far more than just the tale of Venom, as we also see Miles’ love life grow and watch him develop as a crime fighter.
