Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on PC would be a no-brainer. You could play the game in high fidelity, while PlayStation opens this open-world title to a secondary audience. Sony would make bank. Here’s what we know about Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on PC, fellow webheads.
Can you play a Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 PC version?
Unfortunately, as of the time of writing, there’s no Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 PC port on the horizon. It’s likely being planned, due to the overwhelmingly positive feedback on the first title and Miles Morales on PC. However, there are currently no plans officially announced by either Insomniac Games or the publisher PlayStation.
When the game inevitably (just speculation) heads to PC, it will likely come to Steam just like the prior games in the series.
Is Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 heading to PS4?
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is a PS5 exclusive. It’s not even heading to PS4 systems as it uses the power of current-gen hardware.
“The power of PS5 allows Marvel’s New York City to load in faster than previous titles,” said the PlayStation Blog. “This translates to speedier movement through the city, including boosting along wind tunnel routes at impressive speeds using the new Web Wings.” This is thanks to the PS5’s ultra-fast SSD. New York City will be double the size in this title too.
You can also switch between the two heroes, Peter Parker and Miles Morales, at a moment’s notice. “It’s a seamless and muscular demonstration of the PS5’s ultra-fast SSD,” said the PlayStation Blog. Ray tracing is available in both the Performance and Fidelity graphical modes of the PS5, adding reflections to water and the neon lights on the surface.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 releases only on the PS5 on October 20. We’ll update this article if there’s any news about a PC port down the line.
