It’s the end of an era. Attack on Titan’s anime has finally concluded, and regardless of how you feel about this polarizing franchise, its impact on the medium can’t be — and shouldn’t be — ignored. In fact, some fans have already taken to the net to figure out if Hajime Isayama has plans for an Attack on Titan sequel.
And, being truthful, it’s not an unfair question to ask. A semi-common sight in today’s day and age is to see mangaka conclude their massively popular series only to turn around and work on a sequel. It’s a trend that can be seen in titles like Boruto (the sequel to Naruto), Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon (the sequel to Inuyasha), and U.Q. Holder (the sequel to Mahou Sensei Negima!).
But, will we be able to add Attack on Titan to that list at some point in the future?
Will there be a sequel to Attack on Titan?
As of writing, neither Isayama nor anime studio MAPPA have officially announced a sequel series to Attack on Titan. That — as usual — won’t stop the legions of anime fan-sites from spreading rumors until the titans come home, but if you were excited about a potential continuation, fret not!
It’d seem that in an upcoming official artbook, Isayama will reportedly include an additional 18 pages of manga content entitled Attack on Titan Vol. 35, which has fans questioning what it could cover. For reference, the official series only received up to Vol. 34, meaning whatever these 18 pages cover, it must be pretty beefy if it’s being considered the 35th volume.
As far as a proper sequel, however, nothing has been announced. If this were to change at any moment, we’ll be certain to update this page with the relevant information.
