Will Verdansk return to Warzone 2.0?

It will return in an unexpected location

When it comes to the many maps featured in Call of Duty Warzone, one stands above them all: Verdansk. This beloved location from the original battle royale Call of Duty standalone title is often request to return in Warzone 2.0. However, is there any evidence that could actually happen?

Will Verdansk come back in Warzone 2.0?

Let’s get right to the heart of the matter: no, Verdansk isn’t confirmed for a return in Warzone 2.0. To be clear, this doesn’t mean that it will never return to the game, but it’s unlikely at this time. Activision has never shown any intention of bringing back this old map.

In fact, Warzone hasn’t had a strong history of bringing back older locales. I would honestly say that I don’t think Verdansk will ever return in Warzone 2.0. As much as the community clearly loves the original Warzone map, it just doesn’t seem likely. Part of this is because of how Warzone has worked so far. Each time a new map arrives, the game retires the old one and doesn’t look back. The one exception to this is Warzone Caldera, the legacy version of the second battle royale location that is still available.

Oddly enough, Verdansk is the only large-scale Warzone map you aren’t able to play currently. Thankfully, this will be remedied in the near future, but not for Warzone 2.0.

Verdansk returns in Call of Duty Warzone Mobile

While Warzone 2.0 may not see the return of Verdansk, this map is coming back in another way. Call of Duty Warzone Mobile is the upcoming mobile entry in the franchise. Set to replace the original Call of Duty Mobile, this new game is essentially Warzone for Android and iOS devices.

At the heart of the game is its battle royale experience, which will feature Verdansk as the main map in lieu of the existing battle royale locations from Call of Duty Mobile. If you want to play on Verdansk again, this is the best way to do it.

Call of Duty Warzone Mobile is already available in several countries around the world, and will have its worldwide release in the near future. This unfortunately is that the only way to play on Verdansk again. As a fan of Call of Duty Mobile, I would suggest giving this new game a try, especially if you adore this map.

As a silver lining, if Call of Duty Warzone Mobile offers controller support when it launches, it will offer a console or PC-like experience.
