DotEmu revealed the first trailer for Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap, what it calls a remaster and updated version of the Wonder Boy III. I’d go as far as to call this a remake as the graphics have drastically changed for the better.
The creator of Wonder Boy, Ryuichi Nishizawa, is collaborating on the game alongside the developers, so I’d imagine fans of the classic series will be pleased.
I’ve never really played the Wonder Boy games, but mostly because the naming conventions are almost as confusing as Kingdom Hearts’, and I’m a real stickler for playing series in order. But this remake certainly has my attention with its art style alone.
Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap is set for release on PC and consoles; which consoles have yet to be specified.
