Blizzard has just announced that World of Warcraft subscribers will get a free copy of upcoming RPG Diablo III for free, with “no strings attached.” The news was broken by Blizzard president Mike Morhaim at this year’s Blizzcon.
This freebie was dangled next to the announcement of a WoW Annual Pass, a 12-month subscription package. This is what one needs in order to qualify for the free Diablo copy, although I’m sure most hardcore Blizzard fans have no problem pre-emptively subscribing for a year.
That’s a pretty big carrot to dangle in front of customers. Sound like a deal to you?
