World of Warcraft Season of Discovery Phase 3 is here, and with it a slew of new activities to complete and items to collect. With so many new items, quests, and factions there will always be a few oddities to find, and this phase is no different. Recently players have been struggling to understand the Emerald Chip.
Players are receiving Emerald Chips with no obvious use, leading to some confusion. Still, there are answers out there, and this guide will walk people through the Emerald Chip, what they do, and where to collect them. That way players can be prepared to get the most out of their drops and strengthen themselves during this Season of Discovery.
How do Players Find Emerald Chips?
Emerald Chips are a currency that is given as a reward for completing Nightmare Incursions in Feralas and the Hinterlands. Each quest completed for a Nightmare Incursion rewards the player with one Emerald Chip.
What are Emerald Chips used for?
Emerald Chips are used as a currency to purchase items from the Emerald Wardens faction. However, players will need to be at least at Revered reputation with the faction to even access the shop.
Items sold here range from 50 Emerald Chips to 75 Emerald Chips, and generally top out at an item level of 50. Some of the gear sold is part of the Emerald armor set for each class, which are level 50 PvP sets. To purchase the full sets, players will need to reach the Exalted rank with the Emerald Wardens.
Players can also purchase the Nightmare Resonance Crystal from these vendors. This item can be used on Nightmare Blooms in the Incursions, giving players the ability to farm the Blooms, even if they don’t have herbalism. These Blooms can even drop Nightmare Seeds, making them an important source of crafting materials for Phase 3.
With this knowledge players should be able to score themselves some solid gear upgrades, as well as some helpful materials. Players can jump into those Nightmare Incursions, earn some solid rewards, and keep their journey going in World of Warcraft’s Season of Discovery.
