Blizzard revealed in a new Developer video for World of Warcraft Season of Discovery that the final phase for SoD, Phase 4, will begin on July 11, 2024. With this final phase, players will be able to reach the final level cap of 60 as well as enter the final two raids, Onyxia’s Lair and Molten Core.
WoW Season of Discovery kicked off back on November 30, 2023, with each subsequent phase hitting about 3 months later. This has brought us to now, with WoW SoD going into its fourth and final phase. The final Phase will stagger content releases for a couple weeks once Phase 4 begins.
On July 11, Season of Discovery officially enters Phase 4, raising the Level cap to 60 and unlocking all the remaining quests and zones.
A week later on July 18, two World Bosses will become available through new Instance Portals. The two World Bosses are Azuregos the blue dragon of Azshara, and Lord Kazzak, the Doomlord from the Blasted Lands.
Finally, a week after that on July 25, the two final raids of World of Warcraft Season of Discovery will go live. First, is Molten Core, a 20-player raid with 10 classic bosses featuring revamped loot, redesigned Tier 1 gear sets, and ‘more’. Blizzard has been mum on the more part, but I have a feeling something cool Sulfuras-related awaits.
Also releasing on July 25 is the Onyxia’s Lair raid which features the infamous black dragon and her many many whelps. Handle it!
Blizzard hasn’t revealed what’s next in store for World of Warcraft Classic once the Phase 4 of Season of Discovery ends, but World of Warcraft Cataclysm Classic has been live for just over a month now.
Season of Discovery Season 4 begins on July 11, 2024.
