There are lots of side quests in Wuthering Waves, and because you are likely to run into the Hero of the Leap quest at a random point, you might be very, very confused as you try to complete it.
One of the steps in the quest is to use the sensor to find the optimal route, but you might not even have the sensor yet. If this has happened to you, I can help you out.
How to use the sensor for the optimal route in Wuthering Waves
You can find the Hero of the Leap quest in the center of Jinzhou. A young man by the name of Dashbon can be found near the pools in the town, and he will tell you about great heroes who used to jump from roof to roof in the city. He will then give you the chance to follow in their footsteps and take on the Overdash challenge.
If you agree, you will be teleported to the top of a building and will need to make your way across the rooftops of the city. If you touch the ground at all, then it will restart. At this point, you can use the sensor to see the optimal route, but only if you actually have the sensor.
If you don’t have the sensor yet, you need to continue through the main quest and do the Echoing Marche quest. As you play through this quest, you will meet a young guard at a small base outside Jinzhou. He will ask you to keep an eye out for a missing person, and this is when you get the sensor. You will be able to switch to the center by bringing up your Utility Wheel by using the Tab key on the keyboard or the left D-Pad button. Make sure it is set to Utility and not Function. In this wheel, you will find the Sensor, which will look like a small eye icon.
Select it, and it will then map to your controls the same way the grapple hook does. you can hold the left should button on the controller and then hit the Y button to use it. This will reveal the optimal route to you when you are performing the challenge in the Hero of the Leap quest and make your life much easier. Remember, you only need to have the grapple equipped to be able to use it for anything other than a prompted spot. If you have the sensor on, you can still grapple to the top of buildings and lamps with ease as long as you hover over the prompt.
