XBL Video Marketplace finally graces those outside the US with its presence

Well, this has been a very long time coming. The Xbox Live Video Marketplace has been a practical joke almost everywhere except the United States for ages, but Major Nelson has today confirmed that those of us outside the US finally have a real Marketplace to call our own. Well, some of us.

If you live in Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Ireland or Germany, then go check out the video Marketplace to see such rentables as 300, The Matrix Revolutions and Superman III, among others. This is surely good news for those among us who were slavering for movies-on-demand delivered straight to their Xbox 360s. For me, it was more a case of “Oh, they have Zodiac, cool. I might get that one day if I feel like it,” and then I turned around to write this post.

The TV shows still consist of crap music videos that miss their target audience by miles (unless hardcore gamers really DO love Jessica Simpson), but it’s still early days. At least it’s a start, though.
