Xbox 360 Wireless Racing Wheel drops down to $99

The Xbox 360’s best racing peripheral just got a little better. Microsoft has slashed $30 off the Wireless Racing Wheel’s price tag, although you can probably get it for even less on eBay. But still, a price drop is a price drop and I’m glad they didn’t wait until after Christmas to sweeten the deal.

Slight warning to potential buyers: not all games are compatible with the racing wheel. Here are the ones that will work: Forza Motorsport 2, Project Gotham Racing 3, PGR4, Test Drive Unlimited, Need for Speed Carbon, DiRT, and Nascar 08.

If I wasn’t so backlogged with amazing games from the past two months, I’d probably pick up the Wireless Racing Wheel. Then again, I’ve always been more into the arcade-style racing games rather than the straight up simulators.

From what I have heard about the peripheral itself, a standard Xbox 360 controller is the better way to go when playing arcade racers, while it’s a crime to play games like Forza Motorsport 2 without the wheel. Does this sound about right, or was I lied to?
