Microsoft has started an extra aggressive push on the Xbox One S, just as we near Sony’s September 7 PlayStation announcement. Now through September 6, if you buy an Xbox One S (or the original Xbox One) from Microsoft, you will receive a free $50 Microsoft Store gift code, a free Ubisoft game, and even $10 off towards an Xbox One wireless controller purchase.

The free games aren’t anything to write home about as they are typical Ubisoft picks that we’ve seen ad infinitum: Watch Dogs, The Crew, Just Dance 2016, and Just Dance: Disney Party 2. The $50 gift card freebie is, of course, the best aspect of this deal and essentially gets you another free game you can buy separately (maybe Dishonored 2 or Battlefield 1?).

The same deal will qualify on the older Xbox Ones too, which are receiving additional discounts on the console as incentives — though in our opinion at this point you may as well pony up the extra $50 for the newer Xbox One S. The bonus offers do not apply to pre-order Xbox One S consoles like the upcoming FIFA 17 bundle.

As mentioned, this deal is non-coincidentally ending on September 6, just before midnight at 11:59pm PST. We don’t think this will sway anyone who has already made up their mind to wait, but for those on the fence, it may just trickle budget-conscious gamers one step closer to the Xbox One S camp.
